Malia Kimura, DPT,a physical therapist, is the owner and manager of Premier Physical Therapy.  She was born and raised on Maui and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a Master of Physical Therapy degree, both from the University of Washington in Seattle.  She also holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona.  Malia joined Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific (REHAB) in Honolulu as an inpatient physical therapist in March 2003 and was promoted to outpatient clinic supervisor of REHAB’s Kihei clinic in December 2006.  She remained with REHAB until opening Premier Physical Therapy in June 2009.

Malia has a strong interest in manual therapy for treatment of orthopedic conditions and treatment of stroke patients.  Growing up as a swimmer has lead her to become certified as an Aquatic Therapist to teach patients how to get better using the water.  Malia enjoys watching movies, being with friends and family, and relaxing when she is not busy growing her practice.

Christie Nurkowski, DPT, Physical Therapist.

Christie Nurkowski attended undergraduate at University of Indianapolis where she got her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science.  She then attended Andrews University for graduate school where she obtained her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2015. Over the last 4 years, she has been working as a traveling physical therapist across the country gaining valuable experience in various settings.  Her time traveling has allowed her to work with a variety of diagnoses including stroke, Parkinson’s, joint replacement, and chronic pain to name a few. Her passions lie in orthopedic juries, neurological deficits and sports rehab. She has experience in working with pediatric care as well. Outside of the clinic, Christie enjoys hiking, running, beach volleyball, swimming, crossfit, and other adventurous activities.
